Visit Grand Park, which celebrates the traditions of Día de los Muertos. In partnership with Self Help Graphics and Art and LORE Media and Arts, the park presents 50 altars created by local artists and community groups.
Art workshops will be available continuously throughout the day to engage visitors in traditions of Día de Los Muertos; workshops will feature two stations dedicated to art activities related to this commemoration. The Sugar Skull activity will invite guests to draw and paint sugar skull artwork with salt and watercolors, and the Papel Picado station will have traditional decorative crafts made by cutting elaborate design into sheets of tissue paper. LA-based illustrator Danny Gonzalez will facilitate the workshops.
In addition, baile folklórico performances by Grupo Folklórico Huitzillin will take place periodically between 1PM and 3PM.
